Interviews with NYC's Indie Theatre Directors

NEWSFLASH: Special Post for DirectorSpeak

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for being a part of the DirectorSpeak experience. I appreciate the time you give to read these interviews and get to know the directors that work their butts off for your viewing pleasure.
However, today I wanted to let you in on an event I’m doing through my theatre company, Articulate Theatre Company, that I thought might interest you: CIRCLING BACK.

CBLogoTiltCircling Back is a night of celebration of CIRCLE REP COMPANY, both for their achievements and for the inspiration they’ve provided today’s aspiring theatre artists. Circle Rep was an ensemble theatre company founded in 1969 by Marshall M. Mason, Lanford Wilson, Tanya Berezin and Rob Thirkield. Their focus was on ensemble work, and creating new American playwrights: something many theatre companies are doing now, but they started doing it in 1969. By the time they closed Circle Rep to move on to other projects in 1996, many of the company were household names, such as Lanford Wilson, A.R. Gurney, Jeff Daniels, William M. Hoffman, Judd Hirsch, Craig Lucas, Marshall W. Mason, William Mastrosimone, Paula Vogel, William Hurt, Kathy Bates, Brad Dourif, Cynthia Nixon, Albert Innaurato, Jonathan Hogan, Trish Hawkins, Tennessee Williams, Judith Ivey, Cherry Jones, Lou Liberatore, Danton Stone, John Lee Beatty, Brian Tarantina and Richard Thomas.

Untitled-1On September 30th, we will spend an evening laughing, talking, performing, reminiscing and creating new relationships – and we hope you’ll join us! We’ll be at The Theater Center at 210 W. 50th Street (basically 50th and Broadway) in the Anne Bernstein Theater (where Perfect Crime plays), at 7pm. You can get tickets here: Circling Back Tickets

Thanks again for keeping up with DirectorSpeak. I’ll have a new interview for you soon, but I hope to see you at Circling Back!
